Election 2012
One year from now, 364 days to be exact, we will be choosing the person who will lead our country for four more years. This may be the most important election of our lifetime, considering what's at stake.
Will we continue down the path we've taken the last three years under Barack Obama, that has left us with a $15 trillion debt, four trillion more than when he took office a little less than three years ago, or will we choose another person to take on the job and try to wake us from this nightmare we seem to be in?
While our country is in major trouble financially, with high unemployment, we've also fallen morally and spiritually under Obama's leadership.
Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder have decided not to enforce the 'Defense of Marriage Act' which states that marriage is between one man and one woman. Homosexual 'marriage' is now legal in some states, while the Christian viewpoint is often mocked and scorned.
Unbelievably, instead of cooperating with them, the administration has sued two states (Arizona and Alabama) for laws that were passed trying to deal with the terrible illegal immigration problem.
Billions of dollars have been wasted on 'green energy' companies, some of whom have failed and gone bankrupt. Still, Obama wants more of the taxpayers' money for additional 'green' efforts.
I never thought I would see another president as dishonest as Bill Clinton, but unfortunately I was wrong. Barack Obama told us he would have the most transparent administration this country has ever seen. No lobbyists would be allowed to work at this White House and bills would be put online for citizens to see before they were voted on and signed into law when passed.
Those two promises, along with so many others, were not kept. Trillions of dollars have been spent with little if anything to show for it, but Obama can't think of much of anything he has done wrong.
Obama said he was a different kind of politician, and fooled a lot of people, but most of us can now
see that he's just like so many others in power who say one thing and do another. He says he's a Christian, but he has openly mocked the Bible, and ignored Christian observances at the White House, while being very careful to acknowledge every muslim holiday known to man.
He's really a Universalist, because he believes Christianity is just one of many ways to God. He's gone
around the world bowing to dictators and apologizing for America, and seems determined to make America into a socialist state, and we see how that has turned out in much of Europe. We can't let that happen here.
He is now spending most of his time travelling the country, campaigning for re-election and blaming Republicans for everything gone wrong. The demonization of the Republican nominee is just around the corner (actually he and his cronies have already started attacking Mitt Romney, because they think he is Obama's most likely opponent in the general election).
What a terrible mistake we and the media (intentionally) made not vetting him as we should have four years ago, and electing a man with so little experience. We can't afford to make the same mistake again, and we CAN'T AFFORD FOUR MORE YEARS OF BARACK OBAMA!!!

Regeneration
I'm reading a great book, 'The World Tilting Gospel,' by Dan Phillips.
In it he describes the word 'regeneration,' also called 'born again.'
He asks the question, "How do we believe?"
Phillips writes, "By a miraculous work of grace, God the Father takes pity on our
dead, lost, God-hating selves. He breathes His life into us, bringing sight to blind
eyes, life to dead spirits, and the submission of repentant faith to hard, rebellious
hearts."
"He causes us to be born again. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!
According to his great mercy, He has CAUSED us to be born again to a living hope through the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled,
and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God's power are being guarded through faith
for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time" 1 Peter 1:3-5.
God is totally sovereign in salvation. God gives us the faith and repentance we need and
regenerates us so we can believe in Him! "Salvation is of the Lord" Jonah 2:9b.

Hi folks! Just what this world needs---another blog. Yeah, I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes. It'll be my thoughts on different areas of interest such as Christian themes, sports, politics (I'm conservative), and anything else that might come to mind.
Might not be your cup of tea, but maybe some people will take a look now and then.
The title of this blog comes from 2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away: behold, the new has come."
