God Acts, Man Responds

"In the matter of salvation, God acts, man responds,
                                      never the other way around."
                                                                                    James White

God chooses His people (1 Thessalonians 1:4), gives them to Jesus as a gift
(John 6:37), draws them to Himself and they come to Him for salvation, and He
will raise them up to eternal life (John 6:44).

God regenerates them, because they are spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1),
replacing their heart of stone with a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26-27).

God grants them the gifts of faith and repentance (Ephesians 2:8-9; Philippians
     1:29; 2 Peter 1:1; Acts 5:31; 2 Corinthians 7:10; Romans 2:4), and they repent and
trust in Him for salvation (Acts 3:19; Romans 10:9-10).

"It (salvation) does not depend on man's desire
or effort, but on God's mercy."
                                                                    Romans 9:16
